Facebook to introduce new messaging & Group features for businesses – Marketing

New messaging features by Facebook are coming soon. Businesses on Facebook will soon be able to manage conversations across platforms. FB said businesses will get to receive & respond to customer messages across its platforms in a single location. Starting with Brazil & the US, business owners will be able to receive & respond to Instagram Direct messages from their Facebook Page Inbox on desktop & mobile through the Pages Manager app. This will enable businesses to respond faster & never miss a message from a customer.

Further, in a few days, FB Pages (which already have the ability to create groups to build their own communities) will be able to participate in Facebook Groups & join community discussions in a way that is representative of their business or organization. There are already over 90 million businesses & non-profits of all sizes are using various FB platforms to connect with customers & their communities. People who manage Pages want to engage with their community in more personal ways, said FB, & accordingly had decided to tweak small businesses settings in a more intimate way.

FB kicked off the Facebook Communities Summit at its Menlo Park HQ yesterday . For the first time, it hosted leaders of local businesses & nonprofit communities in addition to people leading communities in Facebook Groups, Pages & Fundraisers from across Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean & the US. The Facebook Communities Summit “celebrates the connections made on our platforms & the impact those connections have on strengthening communities around the world.”
