It can be difficult for a startup to put together a pitch to convince potential investors to put up their hard earned money on an unclear, difficult to understand proposition. ‘Monimen’ is a tool to help the entrepreneur do just that, by offering a set of standardized cards that help you explain your business in a clear & concise way to your future backers.
The service is free & is aimed mainly at tech startups & can be easily accessed via the Monimen Website. The idea is to explain to non-techies how it is that your idea can provide concrete benefits to possible costumers, without delving deeply into the actual IP & other things you may not want to divulge publicly at an early stage of product development.
In another publication, Emir Uckan, Monimen Productivity designer of the Turkey-based startup states:
Monimen is a discreet Quick Simple Entrepreneur Pitching Tool that creates an Startup Identification Cards without telling:
1. How it works? (You don’t have to reveal all business flow)
2. What’s the magic? (Your Know-How is your magic, & we appreciate it)
3. Why? (I’ve really hate that one since my childhood)
The process for creating a startup card is very simple, you just fill out the following information from multiple choice forms:
- Short Information about your startup,
- Target Audience: Who’s gonna use it?
- Target Market: From to Whom?
- Benefits: What it’s for?
- Disadvantages: What it harms?
- Where to use?
- When to use?
- Supported platforms?
- We did, for far as entrepreneur?
- We need, as entrepreneur?
- Budget: how much you need?
For some of these sections, you then give a rating from 1 to 5, taking care not to give the maximum rating for all of the criteria. The system then takes the 3 sections with the maximum ratings or ‘benefits’ & sticks them in your card. These provide a summary or “characteristic identity”.
The creation & publishing process takes a very short time, anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes, depending on the creator’s familiarity with the system. After this process if finished, a startup card CV is generated, which can then be shared from the service’s Website.
