KitCut makes Facebook Messenger fun with visual mashups

KitCut is a visual mashup app for iOS that allows you to make mashups of photo cutouts, text & doodles & send them to your friends using Facebook Messenger.

The app makes it all very easy, so you can simply sign up using your Facebook account & then use your finger to make cutouts of images from your phone or camera, or search for them from the Web. The app also shows results from KitCut’s own collection of images based on the keyword you type, & you can make cutouts from them in the same way you do images on your phone.

You can add doodles &/or text, & send it as a message to any of your friends on Facebook. There’s no dearth of apps that allow you to add some life & fun to your messaging, but this goes far beyond an emoji or taking & sharing a 10 or 30-sec video with captions.

The ability to mashup visual elements together without any effort eliminates all the limitations about what you can do to make your messages more interesting very quickly. They suggest it themselves on the app page on iTunes – “A picture of you & Elvis sharing popcorn in Times Square? Kite-surfing with superman in Hawaii? Everything is possible!”

Oh, & to make it even easier, they have already created a ton of KitCuts which you can go select & use directly, with zero effort.

Kitcut was developed by Israeli startup Heyku, founded in 2013 by Asaf Asulin & Ohad Assoulin. Ohad is the company’s CEO & Asaf is the product manager & designer. The company has raised $850,000 in 2 funding rounds, including a US $700,000 seed funding round in March 2014.
