Social networking app Instagram on Wednesday unveiled plans to expand its offerings to advertisers across the globe. The Facebook-owned photo-sharing network said in a statement that starting this month, it would open up for business & be available to advertisers “large & small.” Which means Instagram ads will now be seen in 30 more global markets around the world.
The expansion will allow advertisers to launch global campaigns in a variety of formats including video ads of up to 30 seconds. Instagram, which was acquired by Facebook in 2012, had limited advertising opportunities so far. In 2013, it began with a small number of “sponsored” posts by brands such as Adidas.
