This is 1 situation that could prove to be a nightmare for Google. Social network Facebook may be on the cusp of releasing a search engine of its own, letting users find articles to share with their friends alongside their status updates.
What could be very, very worrisome for Google also is the fact that Facebook had indexed over 1 trillion posts to power the search engine, looking through users’ feeds to find out which articles had been shared more than others, in a report in TechCrunch. That socially-powered search is likely to be the Facebook search engine’s selling point over Google, say analysts.
