seenoteAre you fed up with all those unsightly sticky notes cluttering up your desk, your screen’s edges, or even your fridge & other nooks & crannies in your home or office? Startup Moonrof has a reservation campaign in place for SeeNote, an always on, digital sticky note, that promises to unclutter your life in a classy & functional manner.

With the advent of a veritable cornucopia of Internet of Things (IoT) devices vying for the public’s attention lately, why would we need another internet connected “thing”?  Well, this one makes a lot of sense. 1st of all, it’s based on a couple of tried & proven technologies that we all find very useful: the sticky note, which was 1st invented & popularized by 3M with the Post-it note, & the digital reminder app, most notably championed of late by Google’s Keep app. So, you take these 2 & join them up, get rid of all that paper & glue, & put away the phone, Tablet or PC, while still keeping a Cloud connection to these, & you get SeeNote.

SeeNote will be a an improved digital sticky note, in that it uses an ePaper touchscreen & a full-color LED alert system with a battery that will last for a month on a charge.  The note portion is the size of a large sticky note, about 3.5 inches square, with the ePaper touchscreen coming in at 4.4 inches & 300dpi, which can be read at an angle & in direct sunlight. It has Bluetooth connectivity as well as WiFi, so no cabling is needed, & it detects & switches accounts based on a user’s proximity.

The device also contains a full-color LED strip on its edge, so it glows when it needs to gain your attention. The interface is customizable & is always on. It pulls data from a bunch of the most popular iOS & Android apps, such as weather, calendar & reminder apps. Among the most interesting apps that it interfaces with are: Google Maps – to see traffic info & delays, IFTT – to activate ‘recipes’ that can be triggered with a single tap & Wink – with which you can quickly access smart-home appliances & controls.

You can pre-order the device now from the product page & the scheduled delivery is for the spring of 2017. Moonroof is based in New York, USA & was co-founded by Matt Bleistern.
