Latest statistics highlight its favoritism among its patrons have upped its popularity by 31%. Not to mention the convenience of plugins offered at the Site, be it SEO tools, pre-designed layouts, innumerable photos, grammar check & so on. All this & more to make sure that you don’t feel pressed for words, photos, ever.
Now for the twist in the tale. A new platform, ‘You Don’t Need WordPress’, claims the same. Not only was this product developed in 24 hours, the entire process was also ‘live’ streamed, so states the Website. So, do you wanna be a Google doc blogger?

So, can the startup, You Don’t Need WordPress, take over the popular blogging platforms like WP? To challenge this, the startup lists its distinct features.
It claims to have the “simplest” Content Management System (CMS). A blogger can integrate it with Google Drive directly. Also, it offers the convenience of working from your computer or phone.
Further, since it incorporates the features of Google Docs, you may also get a feedback on your text as you blog. Once complete, the user can share the blog with friends or general public.
For designing the blog, you can include tables, color, shapes; now it needs to be seen whether these elements are able to make up for the absence of plugins. The startup claims it handles all the hosting. You just need to have a Google Drive account & you are set. The platform is open source so users too can contribute or host it themselves.
And lastly, the platform is free to use. Though what remains to be seen is whether this feature eliminates the need to subscribe to plans or feature upgrade a la WordPress.
