Uzidard turns wireframe drawings into HTML/CSS instantly

Front-end design is the foundation of all modern digital application development. Front-end refers to the layout & styling of the UI (User Interface), without which an application, however complex or simple, would fail to exist. Generally, front-end functionality is written in a combination of HTML & CSS, & the process is usually initiated by drawings of the concept, so that developers can get a handle on the look & feel they want to achieve for the final product.

Nevertheless, after mock-ups are ‘wireframed’ for coding, & the writing of said code completed, many applications still go through multiple changes, while developers, or their clients work to satisfy themselves that they’ve arrived at the design they’ve held in their imagination. This entire saga is often a long & arduous affair, & costs clients & design houses thousands of dollars, while for designers their hours are eaten away with re-writes, never mind the original time they’ve invested in the initiation of the project.

What if this procedure could be avoided, altogether? What if a rough drawing of a UI, wherever drawn, could be used to code-up a complete template for the design, without the necessity for writing any code? Naturally, this idea would be a game-changer if it could be achieved. Not only could ‘first-concepts’ be modeled easily, but changes to color or layout might, also, be effected, without much ado. Costs would be significantly reduced if a computer could simply take an image of a design and turn it into perfectly rendered code, now, that would certainly be progress, wouldn’t it?

Tony Beltramelli, Henrik Haugbølle, Florian van Schreven, & Loannis Sintos, founders of uizard, have used these ideas as a springboard to come-up with an AI based software application, which claims to achieve the result of turning images into code. The concept involves, setting down a drawing of a design, on any medium, snapping a picture with a Smart Phone’s camera, uploading the image to the application, and voila! HTML/CSS template code is ready to download. Wow, it’s no wonder that the application has gained major financial backing from Angel investors, & admiration from the digital world in general.

The application is still in its experimental phase, but interested parties can sign up to be the ‘‘first-to-know’ when releases are made by the team.
