Tipping goes hi-tech

Amidst all the crass materialism, we long for a Zen experience. Wouldn’t it be awesome to give, even if we can only afford change? Even if it is US $1, or the price of a cup of coffee? Wouldn’t an Online graphic designer or an artist benefit if all of us contributed small amounts?

Did you know, just as you ‘like’ a post on your social media account, you can, as easily, send a tip. ‘ChangeTip’ allows you to ‘tip’ any person, any cause, any creative endeavor, anywhere in the world. In a sense, this one’s for Online as well as the real world. It’s a new way to give to the people, or the causes that light your fire, without any messy red tape. The premise is simple – on the Web, you encounter causes or people you admire. You think they should be given a leg up, or a shout-out. Put your money where your mouth is, then.

ChangeTip makes it really simple to show your support. There’s a Tipworthy Feed, curated by users with an account; you go through it, and choose where you would like to tip.

So, to make it to the Tipworthy list, here’s what you have to do:

  • Connect with 1 of your social media accounts & start a free account with ChangeTip
  • Find some great Content online; text, videos, photos
  • Copy-paste the link on Tipworthy, & share on social media for some love
  • Enjoy while others discover your ‘cause’& tip; you earn some money too

The platform highlights causes & Content that stem from new ideas. An appreciative audience is presented with the idea, & if you think it is worthy of your consideration, you tip with change. Don’t be fooled into thinking that your $3.50 will not make a difference. An artist can total up the tips she gets, and buy a new set of brushes; a novice musician can afford to get his piano tuned. The whole idea is to spark a change in mindset. Curators benefit by posting thoughtful Content – they earn money on this & get exposure. Creators of the content earn money & get exposure.

ChangeTip is helmed by San Francisco based Founder/CEO, Nick Sullivan who believes in the power of technology to enhance transactions with electronic micropayment systems like Bitcoin.
