New research has thrown up a worrying scenario – hundreds of brands of security cameras, baby monitors, & “smart” doorbells have serious vulnerabilities that allow hackers to hijack devices and spy on their owners.
Mozilla Firefox has released security updates to fix a vulnerability after a user informed it that an advertisement on a news site in Russia was serving a Firefox exploit. According to Mozilla, the exploit searched for sensitive files & then uploaded them to a server that appeared to be in Ukraine.
Online reports have said that for around a week, hackers used Yahoo’s ad network to send malicious bits of code to computers that visit Yahoo’s collection of Websites. The attack started on July 28. It could have targeted millions of people Online. According to reports, the scheme was shut down by Yahoo last Monday.

Yet another "massive" vulnerability in Android devices has been uncovered by security researchers. This one allowed hackers to access a device remotely without the owner ever knowing his device had been compromised. The flaw may have affected roughly 95% of Android devices running operating system version 2.2 to 5.1, said cybersecurity firm Zimperium.
