Amazon has invited developers to participate in a “developer preview” that will allow them to use as many as 8 ‘Amazon Polly’ US English voices for utterances in their Alexa apps. And, it’s for free.

After taking on messaging, & all other kinds of businesses, it is now reported to be venturing into yet another sector occupied by Google & Apple – which is the virtual assistant arena. The social company is in the process of developing a Messenger-based Google Now competitor called Moneypenny, reports indicate.

Super Siri on the way? Apple planning to bring in Proactive in iOS 9

There’s a lot of buzz around Apple’s upcoming iOS 9. Signs are it will happen at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference on June 8. Now it emerges that Apple’s intelligent digital assistant Siri is slated to take on a more pro-active role in iOS 9. According to a report in 9to5Mac, the new tool called Proactive, which includes Siri, will take that digital assistant to a new level. Siri has been around since 2011, at the time of the launch of the iPhone 4S.
