‘StandupScreen’ is a tool that will let you do your Trello standups directly on a whiteboard using stuff that you probably already have in your office: a whiteboard, a projector, a laptop with a webcam & some magnets. The webcam automatically tracks the magnets & syncs the activity with your Trello cards.
Trello is 1 of the most widely used team project collaboration apps, which mainly consists of a number of cards filled with task lists assigned to team members. The tasks can be prioritized & progress tracked in real-time on the Trello Cloud. Often meetings are set up to physically get all project members together & to monitor progress & discuss task priorities & assignments, which is where this tool can be of use.
StandupScreen is a Web app which integrates directly with Trello when you log in to your Trello account & works best using a Chrome browser. For project team meetups, it’s a straightforward setup to get things going: just connect the laptop to the projector, direct the projector to the whiteboard & make sure that the camera also points at the whiteboard. Adjust the laptop so that the entire whiteboard’s visible on it & make sure that no edges are cut off. Then step away from the screen & click to let the camera calibrate.
You can then call your 1st team member by affixing a small magnet to choose the member on the Trello screen projected on the whiteboard. Then, also by placing magnets, you can move tasks to different lists, reassign team members, move tasks up a list, increasing their priority & delete cards that you’re done with. You finally stick a magnet on the Apply button & instantly, all these changes are updated. Finally, just remove the magnets & call the following team member to continue with the next standup by placing a magnet on his/her member icon, & so on until you’ve gone through all your project team.
