Your ‘secrets’ are safe on Apple devices with this app for safeguarding password & ecommerce info

secretsWith this new app for OS X & iOS you can safely store your passwords, credit cards & bank details using strong cryptography & iCloud sync to safely access your info from any of your Apple devices. It’s an app that aims to give you a simplified & improved password manager & secure wallet.

With the app you can just store your secrets securely in 1 place & with the click of a button you can fill logins on Safari or Chrome, without need for copying & pasting, & without letting the, sometimes insecure, browsers’ password fill function store them for you. Secrets also keeps the data synced across devices using your iCloud account, so your passwords & wallet info are accessible from you Mac, iPod, iPhone & iPad.

Secrets is designed from the get-go for tight security & uses proven open standards, like OpenPGP for encryption, as well as AES & RSA algorithms for safely signing. The app doesn’t use browser extensions or helper apps that can compromise access to your data, making it very difficult for hackers to get at your goodies. If your device gets misplaced or is stolen, Secrets uses automatic locking to keep your passwords & wallet safe from prying eyes. It also comes with a secure & customizable strong password generator that creates unpredictable & unique passwords every time.

Another interesting feature is the app’s intelligent search, which helps you find your info quickly, & you can import passwords & other info from competing apps, like PasswordWallet, RapidoSerial, LastPass & 1Password.

This app has been recently released by the Lisbon, Portugal-based startup, Outer Corner, which is led by its team of 2 young entrepreneurs: developer Paulo Andrade & designer Hugo França. In a post in another publication, Paulo Adrade explains that their aim is to make the app extremely simple to work with, both from a security & a UX perspective. He also said that making do without browser extensions or helper apps reduces the attack vector on your data, while still keeping an auto fill feature on browsers, which they do from outside the browser using other OS features.
