‘Searchstone.io’ is an open source search engine for Hearthstone, a fast-paced strategy card game that is free to play Online. This tool is developed to ease the difficulties that Hearthstone’s players experience as they browse through all the cards & research their properties from the home screen. It’s available for mobile/ Tablet/desktop. The game supports iOS & Android devices.
Searchstone is developed using Algolia, which is a UX-obsessed search engine & instantsearch.js. This tool’s browser-based search experience is built using the Algolia JavaScript tools. On the other hand, instantsearch.js is used to make the tool’s User Interface.
With the help of this JavaScript, all the UI elements of Searchstone are generated to offer you a great search. Such elements include; widgets for typing in the query, & displaying results.

- Hearthstone search usually doesn’t know the name of the card in another language e.g. English if you’ve installed the game in another This tool helps rectify this by allowing you to see all the cards based on your search as well as supporting multiple languages.
- The game’s query field doesn’t allow editing a query. With this tool, you will not have to press enter each time you launch a search.
- If you select the search field, you cannot click another card. This tool allows you to select cards even after you’ve selected the search field.
- The filters are hidden as well as the origin of cards information. Searchstone has incorporated faceting hence you can search within categories.
By using Cloudinary to host the images for these cards, this tool can display for you as many cards simultaneously on the results page after your search. It ensures your search is relevant too by returning what you want in a predictable & sensible order.
