Marketers, listen up. You can now implement the Facebook ‘pixel’ & standard events to understand how posts in your groups drive actions on your Website. The Facebook pixel is an analytics tool that allows you to measure the effectiveness of your advertising by understanding the actions people take on your Site.

For example, in Groups, once you implement the pixel base code & relevant events, you can see if a post resulted in a pixel-detected lead or purchase on your Website.

To see events detected by the pixel as a result of a group posting, navigate to Group Insights from the left-hand menu, said Facebook.

You’ll see aggregated results for all your events for your group & a breakdown of results by events.

Benefits

  • Reach the right people
  • Drive more sales
  • Measure the results of your ads

For full step-by-step instructions on creating your Facebook pixel, adding pixel to your Site or modifying an existing pixel, visit the Facebook pixel setup guide.

Facebook tracks conversions that happen within 1 day, 7 days,& 28 days after a person clicks an ad, & 1 day, 7 days, & 28 days after your ad is viewed. You can choose which length of time you care about in your Ads Manager reports.

The pixel base code tracks activity on your Website, providing a baseline for measuring specific events. The base code should be installed on every page of your Site. Events are actions that happen on your Website, either as a result of Facebook ads (paid) or organic reach (unpaid). Event code lets you track those actions & leverage them in advertising.
