It’s that time of the year – the general partner at venture capital firm Bond Capital, Mary Meeker posted her always-awaited ‘Internet Trends Report’ at Code Conference 2019.
The 333-page slideshow notes a every Internet trend in the last year + a look forward about what they foretell in the coming year.
Here are some highlights:
About 51% of the global population, i.e. 3.8 billion people, are now connected. In 2017, it was 49%. Smartphone sales have started to come down because obviously, over half the world is now connected.
e-commerce makes up 15% of all retail sales, while ad spend in the US on the Net went up.
7 out of 10 of the world’s most valuable companies by market cap were tech companies.
