Here’s how to send newsletters on Facebook Messenger – Bot

Facebook has revolutionized the way people interact with one another. The reach of Facebook is such that if its daily users could be counted as a country, Facebook would be the 3rd most populous country in the world. With approximately 5 new profiles being created every second, the juggernaut continues.

The infinite possibilities of Facebook are not lost on the clever marketer who’s always trying to find new ways to reach out to his customer base. A study conducted by State of Inbound Marketing in 2012 revealed that more than 40% of the marketers they surveyed considered Facebook pivotal to their business. FB already has more than 65 million business pages. With statistics like these, there is only 1 question on every marketer’s mind, “With a person spending about 20 minutes a day on Facebook, how can that help me?”

This can be done with the help of an app called ‘botletter’. Botletter is a lot like MailChimp except that it uses Facebook Messenger as a platform rather than email. It’s a chatbot that 1 can integrate into their FB account. No coding knowledge is required & the whole process takes nothing more than a few minutes. Once the setup is complete, one can send newsletters to potential leads directly through Messenger.

For those with a Website, botletter has a plugin. One advantage is that a Facebook user needn’t like the Facebook page to receive newsletters from botletter. Even the installation of the Facebook Messenger app isn’t mandatory for the application to function. The catch here is that 1 has to subscribe to botletter in the Messenger chat. If they don’t, merely liking the page will not allow botletter to send them newsletters. 1 can also send personalized updates to customers to keep them engaged with the Content.

As every marketer knows, a newsletter is a game changer. Newsletters help the marketer by ensuring that all the information is available so that they can sell the product/business. A newsletter helps the potential customer by keeping them in the loop on the latest developments related to the product/business. This helps them make an informed choice. While many marketers already employ the newsletter tactic, how many of us spend that much time on our mail? Mostly, the tendency to look at one’s email arises only when someone has been informed beforehand about an incoming mail. Additionally, many of the newsletter emails go to the “spam folder” or “promotions folder” which is hardly read by the average netizen.

Facebook, on the other hand, is the low hanging fruit for every marketer. More often than not, a person would inevitably check their messenger as their attention on Facebook is highly focused. While that doesn’t translate into conversions, a potential customer would be more than happy to know that they get regular updates about their favorite product/service via Facebook messenger.
