Google introduces new encryption for Android phones – Internet news

Google has taken the curtains off a new form of encryption today called ‘Adiantum’. It is designed to secure data stored on lower-end smartphones & other computing low processor devices, said Google.

Most Android phones have storage encryption enabled as “default”.However, an exemption is made for phones with low processing power, which is required to run encryption directly on the device.

To solve this problem, Google has designed the new encryption mode called Adiantum. Storage encryption protects your data if your phone falls into someone else’s hands. Adiantum is an innovation in cryptography designed to make storage encryption more efficient for devices without cryptographic acceleration, to ensure that all devices can be encrypted.
