GitHub has been under DDoS attack since almost 4 days

GitHub, that platform where people go to to build & share code, has come under a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack since March 26. By its own reckoning, it seems to be the “largest DDoS attack in github.com’s history.” The attack has affected all of GitHub. Some Online reports have claimed that the traffic was coming from China as attackers were reportedly using China’s search engine Baidu for the purpose of “HTTP hijacking.”  This was later denied by Baidu.
A post on GitHub blog said, “…..based on reports we’ve received, we believe the intent of this attack is to convince us to remove a specific class of content.

We are completely focused on mitigating this attack. Our top priority is making sure github.com is available to all our users while deflecting malicious traffic.”
On March 30, the attacks continued though Github said it continued to tackle them.
Git is an open-source version control system that was started by Linus Trovalds – the same fellow who also created Linux. GitHub is a place to go to when developers are creating something, & are are making constant changes to the code & releasing new versions. These revisions are stored in this central repository. This allows developers to easily collaborate, as they can download a new version of the software, make changes, & upload the newest revision. Developers may click here to monitor status.
