There’s new competitor in town for team messaging tool, ‘Slack’. Well, ‘Flock’ is a team messenger & communication app for teams & enterprises. It lets you integrate the apps that you use at work through the Flock Appstore. Therefore, you’ll not need to switch between apps in order to get notifications. In addition, you can build custom applications on the Flock OS.
The app’s messaging features lets you connect with your team quite easily. You can make team decisions quicker by getting instant feedback from your team. Also, you can easily discuss ideas & share files. Flock also allows you to conduct virtual meetings, & you can easily start a video conference.
It also enables you to stay on top of things. You can conduct polls within the platform, manage tasks with to-dos, set reminders as well as collaborate on documents. Another Flock’s key feature is that with native apps for mobile, PC & the Web you can pick up conversations right from where you left them across various devices.
For developers, it allows you to download easily, forward, edit & reuse code within the app itself. The platform’s simple interface makes it easy to bulk add team members & manage employee exits. You also get to manage your organization’s wide security setting for all your employees. Its admin panel helps you simplify the syncing of users between the app & Active Directory.
Flock’s search feature displays important groups & contacts automatically without you typing anything.
The platform is free to use although there is an in app pricing depending on your preferences. The app is available for both iOS & Android users. It is also available for Mac, Chrome as well as Windows PC. For iOS users, the latest version was released in November 2016. It requires your device to run on iOS 8.0 or later. For Android users, the version released on Oct 2016. To be compatible, your device needs to run on Android 4.0 & up.
Flock was launched in India in 2014, with it’s now venturing the US market in 2016. The startup’s founder & CEO is Bhavin Turakhia. Its headquarters is in Mumbai, India.
