Facebook security breach, 50 mln users may have been affected – News

facebook security breachA new Facebook security breach has been reported. Social network Facebook’s worst nightmare has come true. On Friday, Sept 28, 2018, the social network disclosed a massive security breach, discovered on September 25, had impacted almost 50 million user accounts. This, by the way folks, is very different from the data breach of Cambridge Analytica, in which a 3rd-party company was allegedly able to access data.

FB has claimed the loopholes that enabled the attack have since been closed. Wired.com quoted FB as saying the attackers could see everything in a victim’s profile, but whether messages were seen or not remains unclear. This episode is one of many reported such Facebook security breach in the last year.

Facebook automatically logged out 90 million Facebook users from their accounts Friday morning, accounting both for the 50 million that Facebook knows were affected, & an additional 40 million that potentially could have been. Such Facebook security break-ins are now beginning to worry users across the world & if FB does not watch out, it could lead to some very serious issues for this powerful social network.
