Secure email provider Tutanota has launched an “encrypted calendar” as part of its offerings.
The Tutanota Calendar comes with some never-seen-before features. Now even notifications for upcoming events will be encrypted. In contrast to other calendar services, neither Tutanota nor others will ever know when a user has an appointment or where.
The Tutanota encrypted calendar (beta) comes with:
- automatic end-to-end encryption of all data
- accessible on every device
- automatic end-to-end encryption of notifications
- integrated into the Tutanota email client
All available Online calendars – Google Calendar, Apple Calendar – store users’ data in the Cloud so that the provider can easily access all personal data. Tutanota stores the users’ data in the Cloud as well – to be precise on its own German-based servers. But due to the built-in end-to-end encryption only the users with their password can access the data.
