You may now see a demo of app before installation

To download or not to download? Many users have 2nd thoughts about hitting that Install button for an app or a game on Google Play store. Well, now you can decide after watching the playable demo by clicking the ‘Try Now’ button placed right next to the Install icon.

The launch of App Store Demos was announced by AppOnboard, a mobile app demo technology & analytics platform for developers. This will enable users to demo apps & games directly on the Google Play store without a download via Google Play Instant. The platform & Google, in collaboration with top game developers, are trying to bring the demo technology directly to the Play store with Google Play Instant apps.

According to Jonathan Zweig, CEO of AppOnboard, the revolutionary ‘Try Now’ button on Google Play transforms app discovery by removing the friction of installation.

“Our shared vision is that every app in the world would be demoed before downloaded. Initial results & adoption for App Store Demos have been tremendous & provide developers with much needed new tools to innovate app discovery, increase pre-registrations, optimize apps & games, & improve retention & monetization of users.”

‘Jam City’ was one of the first 10 developers to launch a Google Play Instant app in March 2018 with Panda Pop.
