In ‘Buno’ you have a free mobile note-taking app that’s simple to use – New app

buno

This phone app is meant to provide the note taking population with a beautifully designed & intuitive experience on mobile devices. The UI is uncluttered & minimalistic, & aims to let users access their notes seamlessly across any device.

Buno counts characters, words & paragraphs in real time, & has quick sync among multiple mobile devices, so users can capture & access their notes from anywhere & keep track of their progress. It has advanced security that prevents unauthorized access to your notes that includes strong end-to-end encryption & password protection.

Among this app’s most interesting features are its use of gestures like swiping down to take a note, including a password lock which is prompted when the app is started; the use of a clean UI which focuses on helping you take notes with a minimum of distractions, including beautifully designed typography & layout. By swiping left, the app brings up icons so you can share your notes across different platforms, move to different buckets or delete them. The buckets are similar to folders where you store your notes. You just tap on ‘Edit’ to name a bucket & start taking notes from there.

In fact, according to Jayant Rao, co-founder of the India-based startup behind Buno (HelloWorld Dev Pvt. Ltd), the main goals of the design team working on this app have been to provide a number of differentiators vs other note taking apps like Evernote, Google Keep or Microsoft OneNote. These are based on design, typography & layout, which they’ve implemented by using easy to read sans serif fonts & a gesture based UI that facilitates quick note taking & access. Also, the bucket system implements something akin to tags &folders in a simple, elegant manner.

The app is currently available for free on both the Android & iOS platforms & a Web app will soon also be available.
