‘Balto’ helps speed up team & test feedback loop for beta apps – #Startup

The makers of ‘balto’ claim by using this new tool, software shops will be able to distribute an app while it’s in its development stages, share it with team members & testers, & gather feedback. By using the Web dashboard they’ll also be able to gather info in 1 place about app feedback & chat about what needs to be improved.

The new app allows for feedback from beta testers & team members that makes it easy to include screenshots & videos. Screenshots & short video captures can be made accessible to the development team with just 1 tap. So you’ll be able to “improve the quality of your app 1 feedback at a time”

Balto was developed to satisfy the internal demands of team members at Goodpatch, a Tokyo, Japan-based UI design company with offices in Berlin, Germany & Taipei, Taiwan. It set out to simplify feedback & to scratch its own itch. As the company has stated on its product page:

While testing out the functionality & design of a product, there’s just too many steps that get in the way of receiving & delivering feedback. Taking a screenshot, emailing it to your team members, making a spreadsheet, inserting comments…. it’s way too complicated. This struggle was what ignited Balto.

To get going with balto you start by downloading & importing the balto SDK & insert a few lines of code inside your app. Then you create a new project from the dashboard & upload your app, which will be sent to team members. Apps uploaded to the dashboard can then be easily installed to a reviewer’s device & when they open up your app they can start giving feedback.

Interesting features are integrated, like being able to place shapes such as a circle, square or arrow on top of a screenshot to emphasize stuff, or being able to comment on feedback & discuss ideas with team members. Also, feedback that you get from an app installed in a mobile device will automatically be converted into tasks to ease you team’s workflow.

Balto works on apps developed for iOS 9.0 or later, Android 4.1 or later & for the mobile Web. You can try balto out through a free 14-day free trial after which you need to subscribe to 1 of the paid plans.
