Apple to introduce Siri ‘Shortcuts’ for easy voice commands

At Monday’s WWDC, Apple announced plans to introduce a feature called ‘Shortcuts’ that will give iOS users the ability to create custom voice commands with Siri that can connect with any app.

Shortcuts will also allow them to carry out multiple commands with a single utterance, almost like ‘Routines’ introduced for Amazon’s Alexa.

Shortcuts can be created both inside an app or with the new Shortcuts app, & they can be accessed both on iPhones & iPads, as well as the Apple Watch & HomePod smart speaker. Users can, for example, record a custom phrase such as “Heading to office” following which Siri will complete a series of actions.
