Have you ever been in a position where you needed to transfer data such as text, links or images between devices & found that it’s not as easy as it sounds? Then, ‘airforshare’ claims to be a useful addition to your tool box. The app offers file sharing within a common WiFi network. A scenario where this could be useful is, say, if an image file downloaded to a device needs to be moved to another device which has image editing software installed, or a text file which needs to be edited by someone on a shared work project.
To use the features offered, airforshare describes the process as:
- Open the app or sign in to the Web interface.
- Write or paste text into the template provided or upload a file.
- Devices should be behind a common router & share an external IP address.
- File type is only limited to files supported by the device used.
- Your Content is available for 30 minutes since last access. Once expired, it will be deleted automatically.
However, airforshare warns users not to use the system to transfer sensitive or private information over public WiFi systems. Moreover, their paid plan has an option to keep data private, but the free option is open to all using a common connection.
The app claims to offer access to its service without cables, passwords, entering secret links or IP addresses. Also, you need not download & install desktop applications.
Compatible with both Android & iOS operating systems, airforshare is available for download from the Apple iTunes Store & Google Play Store. The app is also available via its Web interface which facilitates sharing files on operating systems such as Windows or Mac. The app is free to use, given a simultaneous 2 file limit (5 MB), but creating an account allows for an additional 3 files (10 MB).
