The exciting world of virtual reality (VR) offers a range of new innovative devices. Such headsets offer an immersive experience to users whether they are being used for gaming, or simply streaming videos. Some of these devices tether with a PC or even work as standalone devices allowing you to explore the virtual world wherever you want to.

Here are 5 popular VR sets in the market:

HTC Vive

For those who have enough money to spare & want to go for the best of the best, the HTC Vive is usually at the very top of the list of options offering a truly immersive VR experience & impressive features.

Room scale tracking is one of the most unrivaled features of this device allowing you to work around within a limited space which adds a unique dimension to your experience with the headset. While the HTC Vive isn’t the latest or even the greatest Vive headset it still remains the most popular thanks to its cheaper price in comparison to the Vive Pro.

Oculus Rift

The Oculus Rift is arguably the closest competition to the HTC Vive.  Not only is the cheaper price an obvious advantage it also offers a VR experience that sufficiently rivals that of the Vive. Like the Vive, Oculus rift also has a room scale tracking technology too although it comes with only 2 sensors instead of the 3. This restricts motion to a single direction & puts it right behind Vive in that regards.

Oculus Go

For those who can’t afford the expensive Oculus Rift, the Oculus GO is an impressive enough alternative with the added advantage of being a top quality standalone VR device offering an experience that is comparable to regular tethered VR sets.

It fits snugly on the face & offers impressive visuals, with limited screen-door effects. The Oculus Go offers an impressive array of content with as much as 1000 games, apps & movies available at launch. The Oculus Go offers a 64GB & 32GB storage option. Oculus GO is a great option, especially if what you are looking for is a quick, easy & quality virtual Reality experience.

Sony PlayStation VR

One of the major downsides of many of the popular VR headsets out there is like the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift is the fact that you need a very good gaming PC to get the best results. Since a gaming PC is a pretty big investment, which is while a VR set that requires nothing more than a PlayStation 4 console to run is a pretty impressive alternative.  The Sony PlayStation VR gets the job done quite well & has some pretty impressive features too. it has a responsive refresh rate & its head-tracking is quite reliable too.

Another thing you’d most likely love about this VR headset is the fact that its accessories are sold separately with various bundles & packs available for sale separately.

Samsung Gear VR

The Samsung Gear VR is one of the most popular smartphones compatible VR headsets out there. It comes with a USB connector which allows it to connect to Samsung Galaxy phones. The fact that it now has a motion controller which is close in function as that of the HTC Vive further stretches the capability of this device. It also comes with a trigger button & a touchpad. However, as with most Mobile powered VR device, its performance to a large extent depends on the quality of the device it is connected to. Which means holding a higher-end Samsung phone is an obvious advantage.
