Controversial entrepreneur, the “father” of Android OS & former Google employee Andy Rubin’s Essential, a company started to create a “mobile computing paradigm” has decided to shut down.
An announcement on its Website says, “Despite our best efforts, we’ve now taken Gem as far as we can and regrettably have no clear path to deliver it to customers. Given this, we have made the difficult decision to cease operations and shutdown Essential. “
Project Gem had promised a new mobile experience & had teams of software & hardware engineers & developers in Palo Alto, US & Bangalore, India, working on it.
