Amazon launches “lite” browser in India, to be followed by other countries – News

E-commerce giant Amazon has launched an Android Web browser app for emerging markets. Almost on the lines of Facebook Lite, this one is for those markets where access to mobile data & high-speed connectivity is limited. The browser called, Internet: fast, lite & private” on Google Play, 1st appeared somewhere around March. Already, some 1000 people have downloaded it.

The app, for now, is available in India.

Its features include:

• Browse confidently knowing that the Internet app is private. It doesn’t ask for extra permissions or collect your private data like other browsers.
• Browse the Web with private tabs. The Websites you visit are not recorded on your phone.
• Stay up to date with news, cricket, & entertainment from top sources right on the Home page.
