Educating yourself through Games

 I feel it was an idea waiting to happen, & it did. Online Gaming by itself is quite addictive & all of us are aware of how children (& even adults) can spend hours playing them. Now, a San Francisco, USA-based Startup called MindSnacks has combined the 2 - Gaming & Education to make leaning a more "exciting" prospect, so to speak.
Though it's been over a year since the birth of this App, MindSnacks is steadily growing. As of now, it offers language-learning Games - Spanish, Italian, English & so on. Each language has 6l Games with about 50 levels built in. Obviously, the more levels you pass, the better you become at that particular language. Each Game, I am told, takes about 25 minutes to complete.
The people at MindSnacks are now building more Games, I am told. In fact, there's 1 section on the Startup's Website where users can even vote for which subjects they want MindSnacks to Gamify next - from Biology to U.S. History.
Incidentally, MindSnacks was voted by Apple as one of the best education Apps of the year in 2011. It is currently available for Free for iPhone, iTouch & iPad devices.
