This Smartphone App Burner lets you create temporary phone numbers at the touch of a button. Within your phone. But you need to have an iPhone. You can create 1 or several alias numbers at the same time; each one is a separate line within your iPhone that can be used for voice or SMS. All this so that you can keep your actual telephone number private & safe from crank callers & spam. Incoming calls on a Burner line either redirect to your main mobile number or go straight to voicemail; your choice.

Its developer says you can use it for dating. Or for some short-term projects. Or for marketing purpose. Users of Burner can even post these alias numbers on their Twitter or Facebook or any other public accounts.
How does it work?
You can create a new number within the Burner Application, any time, & manage all your active numbers from your dashboard. Each number comes with a voice minutes & messages allowance. You can also set your own preferences for each of these temp numbers.
Each number has a Burn button so you can destroy a temp number when you’re done with it. The burn sequence requires a user confirmation, because once a number is destroyed, it is permanent. If some one calls that number after it is destroyed, they will get a generic out-of-service message.
How much does Burner cost?
This is not a Free App. It costs a minimum US $1.99. This will buy you just enough credit to create one short-duration temporary line. After that, you need to buy credits to create more Burners of various durations, or to extend Burners that you have already created but have not yet expired. When you buy credits in bulk, you get a volume discount, too.
