YouTube’s special India app to get around spotty Web connectivity – News

Google has said it would roll out a mobile YouTube app specifically designed for India to circumvent the country’s spotty Internet access.

According to media reports including by news agency Reuters, Google had been conducting tests in India of YouTube Go, which allowed users to save videos to watch offline. A beta version of the app had been released in the Google Play Store in India.

India, with its population of 1.3 billion people and poor connectivity, as a prime place to test products for emerging markets.
