WordHunt is a search for what YouTubers say – #Startups

‘WordHunt’ was created by a programmer credited as Sam with the Twitter handle of @evexoio. Sam left his job working in development for a software company. After quitting his job, he started to program a project that was inspired with IBM’s Watson Tone Analyzer. The IBM project can analyze your mood based on the captions in videos. Sam was intrigued by the technology & started to test on YouTube channels.

This project evolved into Youtstat. This built on the preview idea where it would grab 15 words from a channel to give an idea about the channel’s context. The idea was working but there was no way to generate income. So the idea evolved again to ways to make money.

The changes in the product came rapidly with the eventual goal of subtitle searching became the end result. Searching subtitles lead to some additional goals including how to fix pronunciation issues for people who want to sound like native speakers.

WordHunt was the end result, & it was the 1st product that generated revenue for Sam. From there the product grew organically & his first customers knew about the product when he contacted them.

What basically you can do using WordHunt is to find out where certain YouTubers says certain words. It helps you look for certain phrases used on the video channel.
