Video chatting with a touch of AR – New app

augmented realitySuddenly Augmented Reality (AR) is all over the news.

Startup Panda has launched a video messaging app that fills the screen with AR effects based on the words you speak. So, for example, if you say, “I want a pizza” while you are chatting, a 3D pizza slice hovers by your mouth on your friend’s phone.

Panda is like a mix of FaceTime with voice activated Snapchat/AR effects, according to a comment by a user.

Panda’s iOS app also has about 200 different voice activated stickers. Tap them & they disappear, & you can  reposition them later. As you trigger the effects for the 1st time, they go into a trophy case that gamifies voice experimentation.
