Use rules to fire up different browsers in Mac OS with ‘Browser Fairy’

If you’ve got a Mac & use different desktop browsers depending on what Site or Web service you fire up, then you can use Browser Fairy to handle this for you seamlessly. With this Mac OS X app there are no worries about having individual default Web browsers for every app & Web page if you want it.

Sometimes it feels like Safari is the be all & end all of Mac desktop browsers but certain pages sometimes want to use a different browser. Browser Fairy, a paid app, lets you define rules where you decide which page gets opened with which browser. For example, you may want to open all Mail links in Firefox, or Calendar links in Opera.

To choose among any of a number of browsers you have installed in your computer, you just need to set Browser Fairy as your rules target & you can get the ‘Browser Selector’ to appear by clicking on any link & holding the cmd-key. You can customize the Browser Selector drag & dropping any new browsers from your applications folder.

You can also switch from 1 browser to another really fast by previously installing the Browser Fairy & by clicking on the magic wand button directly in your browser’s toolbar, then choosing a different browser from the Browser Selector.

Browser extensions are available for Safari, Chrome, Firefox & Opera & you can get them for free here.

Browser Fairy is under development by the Germany-based company venqoo GmbH. Venqoo specializes in developing cross platform apps for both Apple & Windows platforms, as well as mobile apps for both Android & iOS.
