Twitter rolls out video ad unit

Micro-blog Twitter has started rolling out a video ad unit called ‘First View’. Advertisers opting for this will jump to the head of the queue in Twitter’s ad network, getting top slot the 1st time a user opened Twitter, for a period of 24 hours.

Announcing this on its official blog, Twitter Revenue Product Manager Deepak Rao said First View will help marketers achieve “significant” audience reach with exclusive ownership of Twitter’s most valuable advertising real estate for a 24-hour period. When users first visit the Twitter app or log in to, the top ad slot in the timelines will be a Promoted Video from that brand. Now, marketers will be able to tell a powerful visual story across the Twitter audience, he added.
