Tweet at the right time to the right audience with ‘When Active’ – #Startup

whenactivelogoIt’s like handing the client a product just when they need it, not before, not after. Timing is key when you want to optimize impact. When Active is a social media scheduling service which believes in this adage & helps you target users when they are actively engaged on Twitter.

This reduces the chances of them ignoring your tweets, which otherwise would get lost in the 1000s posted every day. It is no secret that timelines on one’s Twitter account are often bursting at the seams. By using When Active, you engage with users only when they are active on the platform, thus ensuring eyeball contact, so to speak. This application tweets when the target user is active, so your tweet actually has a greater chance of being read by the right audience, & then acted upon.

Just like others in the field such as Hootsuite or Buffer, this Web application, too, allows you to compose multiple tweets & queue them up for automatic delivery at the right time. When Active, true to its name, then monitors the target’s activity on Twitter, so that when they are active, your posts slide in smoothly. The product tagline says it succinctly, “Target your tweets to the right people at the right time”.

Engagement with the user is highlighted. Seth Louey, one of the developers of When Active, has rightly said, “What the point is of tweeting at people when they are not active?” The whole idea is to send the tweet when the user is active so that your custom tweet does not just vanish into the scores of other tweets that crowd the Twitter stream at a given time.

To start using When Active, you need to subscribe to one of its 3 paid plans. There’s a free 7 day trial to get familiar with the platform.

When Active was developed by Louey & Mubashar Iqbal at a 24 hour hackathon, & went ‘live’ recently. Hack Upstate is an annual event held in Syracuse, New York, to build products & demo “cool” ideas.
