Turn your blog posts or articles into audio with ‘Play.ht’ – #Startup

With all the competition out there, articles written in plain text may not be enough to engage your audience any more. Now you can automatically convert your articles to audio & choose from a wide range of voices & accents, & then publish as podcasts or using the provided embedded audio player.

Not only that, but the podcasts created with Play.ht can be published to iTunes or Soundcloud & the embedded player can be easily customized to fit your style & audience.

Audio newsletters can also be created starting from written text. By creating an audio version of your newsletter, which is made possible by Play.ht, you can increase user engagement, shareability & Content consumption.

To keep track of engagement, an analytics dashboard is included where you can do deep analysis of parameters like the number of minutes listened, number of downloads, sessions, shares, plays & a lot more.

Play.ht originally started out a few months ago providing a useful Chrome browser extension for listening to your favorite articles on Medium.com. It allows you to listen directly to any Medium article directly from the browser & is still available on the Chrome web store here.

Mahmoud Felfel, front end engineer & co-founder of Play.ht, has stated in another publication that after publishing the Chrome extension, their aim was to enable users to consume content in a more convenient way, & go beyond tying the service to a single website or app.

Now, anyone with a blog or publication on the internet is able to have a “listen” button, just like the ubiquitous “like” or “tweet” buttons. With the Play.ht listen or “Play” button, you get can get a button for every article at any List article page.

Of course as we already mentioned, you also get the embedded audio player that you can put into any article in your blog & a podcast feed derived from your articles which can be updated automatically & published as a feed.

To get started with Play.ht, you can just register on the product page or sign in with your social media account & try one of the list of male or female voice packages with US, UK, Australian, Indian & Welsh accents.
