What you can do with this startup is check out events, announcements & people around you. It allows you to Interact with these or them “on your terms and conditions.”
The uses of Why.Not?, according to info sent to us, “are mind boggling”, since it has implications for social interaction,business communication,information & fun.

The Android version of Why.Not? was launched on Sept. 1, this year. You may use the app to check out events that are happening around you, so also interesting announcements. For that, all you need to do is check 1 of the choices in the discovery settings that matches what you want right now.
To use this startup, you need to register with your email. Then, when & if something fancies your interest, drop a Why.Not? you can then link up, exchange messages, leave a comment or receive important announcements & sales notices. There’s another part to using this startup – if you’re not interested or they’re just boring ditch them out of your world by sending a Not.Now!
The Web version of this startup, claims the developer, can be used by business or events managers to promote a game, an event or even a sale. You could even be the announcer at a football match wanting to send important updates of a match or safety notifications. You could be be a receptionist controlling all your clients in a waiting room or you could be someone giving a press conference or lecture.
All that you need to do is register an event or enterprise Online with your location, something about what you do and what you’re offering right now. You can then schedule messages to anyone that shows interest in your offerings. Other users may then visit your store or they may send you messages on your wall. The best part is you will be able to know who they are,& be able to say hello to them by their name without those awkward name tags. Then, maybe if some of them agree, you can send you their details to make a hotel registration or a doctor’s appointment
The stated mission of Why.Not? is to make everyday interaction in your world easy & exciting.
For example, it takes away the boring exchange of addresses, emails & registrations. No more of those awkward conversations with people whose names you can’t remember.
This startup gives you the opportunity to make friends or conversations with people you may never have ever spoken to while you may have had a dozen things in common. Even if the interaction is only for a few minutes it might never have happened because you never knew better.
How to Use
- Register as a new user with you email
- Login & click on profile
- You may add you photo add some more interest or change you status
- Actually your status is what you fancy or need or want right now. Eg if you are at an airport for a few hours and want to share a chat or coffee, enter coffee here. If you want to share a taxi to the city,enter share taxi here
- Then click on discovery settings and limit your distance
- Click ‘Ok’
- You should see a list of users with some of their interests & details
- If someone interests you click on the Why.not icon and a request will be sent to them that expires at midnight
- If they agree to your request they become your friends & appear in your ‘Friends’ list, & you can
- them send them messages
- You could also save their details to your phone contacts. This would be useful if you meet an
- interesting business lead or agent & want his details
How to use the Sales & Announcements feature
- This is very similar but here you can see Sales or announcement News from the Web app
- Every business or event registers on the Web with their name & something about their offerings
- Click on ‘My Sales & Announcements’ & enter something you looking for e.g. ladies shoes or if
- you want updates of scores at a football game enter scores
- Click done & wait
- Now all matches will appear & you could chose something that interests you
- Click on the particular user in the user list & open his profile
- Send that event or business a request or Why.Not? as we call it & wait
- He will then have the right to send you specials,vouchers offerings, scores, safety messages etc.
- This you can see by clicking on My Sales & Announcements News
