‘Login Designer’ is a free WordPress (WP) plugin that lets you create & edit your Site’s login page. It comes with stylish templates that you can customize to get a beautiful, pro-level login page.
Creating a good, catchy login screen is often ignored by Website designer & developers. This can be a costly mistake because 1st impressions can determine whether a visitor is attracted to your message or not. It establishes in a visitor’s mind if the level of professionalism of a Site (or in client’s mind if you develop Sites for hire).
Login Designer is easily installed on your WP Site as a plugin. You’ll be hard-pressed to find anything like it available elsewhere. It comes with such interesting features as aero refreshes, contextually displayed options, custom event triggers, powerful custom controls & extended ‘live’ editing.
The plugin uses the WP Theme Customization API extensively. You can preview login page styling in real time as you tweak elements, using context-aware previews.
Rich Tabor is the founder of ThemeBeans, the WP theme & plugin studio responsible for Login Designer. He states in a blog post that the plugin works as follows:
- A Login Designer panel is added to your current theme’s Customizer instance after you install the plugin. When you open the panel, a customizer preview event is fired, loading the login styler in the preview window.
- When you back out of the Login Designer panel, the preview window returns to the home page.
- With context-aware previews in the WP customizer, you see the previews right from the area you’re currently in without having to open a separate preview window.
Besides Login Designer, ThemeBeans develops quality WP themes & plugins, with 23 currently in production, aimed at portfolio management, e-commerce, professional writing, blogging, agencies, restaurants, photography…
