Take control of your Mac’s wallpaper using ‘Desktopr’

desktopr‘Desktopr’ is a Mac app that will allow you to set a movie, a Website or even you fav social network as your desktop wallpaper. What?!! Yup. With this app, you can easily configure the Content items you want to set as your desktop background. Then it could be even this Website! Not only that, you can even control the specific duration that a Website animation or movie can be your desktop wallpaper. You can even show local Content from your own disk, thus ensuring that there’s no limit to the amount of items you set as a background.

Desktopr will also allow you to start browsing immediately by using the menu bar to switch currently showed Content from desktop level to front. What about wanting to use a service that will require login information? Well, you just open Safari, log in & ensure you check the “Remember Me” option & you are ready to roll.

Its developers have provided a menu bar to help in the configuration of the app. You can choose whether to interact with a Web page or not by enabling the ‘Browsing Mode’ using this menu bar. If you disable this Mode, the Site is locked & then acts just like a regular wallpaper with all icons on your desktop being fully ‘selectable’.

In addition to toggling the Browser Mode, you can also manage various Websites using Desktopr. Based on your settings, the app will automatically switch between the options in the list of selected Sites. It also helps you enable & disable Javascript as well as set the font size. How about reducing the opacity of the Website you’ve chosen as your background to reduce distraction when you are working on other things, or even better bringing your desktop to the front, so it’s not hidden by all your apps & window clutter? Desktopr will allow you to do all this. You may also choose whether or not to play movies in full screen by default if you’ve set YouTube as your background.

Using Desktopr makes it perfect for those of us who see the desktop background as “wasted space” as it will give you quick access to your favorite Websites & Content right from your desktop.

The app was founded by Miroslav Podorsky & is published by Sandwich Lab. Its latest version was updated on May 27, 2016, & costs $0.99 on Mac App Store. For compatibility, Desktopr requires your Mac to have OS X 10.9 or later & a 64-bit processor.
