Starting this month, Android users in Russia have started seeing the options for search engines in the Chrome Mobile browser allowing them to select their preferred search engine.
So it’s true. Rumors that Russia was contemplating an alternate to Android & iOS were confirmed when the country’s minister of Communications Nikolai Nikiforo spoke of plans to the effect. The country plans to build the alternate on open source mobile platform Sailfish.
