1st it lost Mozilla to Yahoo Search, now it’s lost another major deal. Microsoft’s just announced it was handing over parts of its display advertising business to AOL. The latter was recently acquired by Verizon. As part of the deal, AOL will make Bing its default search engine instead of Google for the next decade.

Verizon, the largest mobile phone operator in the US, said it was buying AOL for its video services. Verizon is already a market leader in the US in distributing mobile video through its mobile phone network.
