Amazon has invited developers to participate in a “developer preview” that will allow them to use as many as 8 ‘Amazon Polly’ US English voices for utterances in their Alexa apps. And, it’s for free.
Amazon’s announced the general availability in the US for in-skill purchasing, which allows the creator of an Alexa skill to sell Content to an Alexa user–both one-off purchases & monthly or yearly subscriptions.
With this capability, Alexa can remember any information for the user so that the user will never forget.
Digital marketing firm Stone Temple’s latest “test” of digital voice assistants has shown that Google Assistant on phone continues to be the smartest.
On your voice command, it will send an SMS to an Android phone (for now) if the person you are trying to reach does not have an Alexa device.
This is different from the process so far, which was using the Alexa app for merely managing settings for the smart speaker & so on.
