Store your passwords securely & easily on all platforms with ‘Padlock’ -New app

Best practices dictate that for security’s sake you use unique, complex passwords for all your accounts. If you use multiple devices & OS flavors, this means you should use a password manager. Padlock will store all your passwords & other sensitive info, so all you have to do is remember a single master password.

There are plenty of options available when it comes to password managers, but most of them are so feature rich that they be cumbersome to use, or they don’t support all the operating systems & devices you may use. A lot of people are also worried that closed source security apps may have back-doors that could compromise your privacy & leave you open to hack attacks.

Padlock is designed from the ground up to be simple to use & focuses exclusively on performance, usability & security. It’s portable across the 6 most used platforms: iOS, Android, Chrome, Windows, macOs & Linux. The Padlock Cloud backend, securely stores your passwords Online, so you can access it from anywhere, whenever you need it.

It’s open sourced, & source code for both the Padlock app & Padlock Cloud is available on GitHub. Martin Kleinschrodt, Founder of MaKleSoft, the German startup behind Padlock, believes that “transparency & openness are the best foundation for trust,” so anyone can contribute to development, review it & provide feedback.

Martin believes that a password manager is a tool that everyone know they need but often don’t use because of the public’s perception that it’s for IT guys & hackers. He developed Padlock to take the stigma out of this category by making it easy & fun to use, leaving out a lot of the useless features that abound in its competitors.

Padlock is freely available on GitHub, the iOS App Store, on Google Play, the Chrome Store, & as packages for Windows, macOS & Linux.
