Some things will not be counted as part of 140 characters: Twitter

Well, the 140 character limit’s not gone but micro-blog Twitter said today it was rolling out expanded tweets around the world. Which means media attachments, including images, GIFs, videos, & polls will no longer be included in the 140-character count. Neither will quote tweets, though if include a link to another tweet in your own that will count as normal.
