Share your 360 degree video with this app

virtual reality app

Dabbling in Virtual Reality (VR) has attracted the best & brightest minds in the tech world. It’s an artificial environment born in your computer, using sight & sound to suspend belief while accepting whatever is going on in front of you as the reality. The goal of VR is to share perspectives of others’ spaces. Enthusiasts claim VR allows you to experience the reality & space of another. That’s a good thing, right?

A new app, ‘splash’, currently in beta, is doing clever things with 360 degrees video & VR, altering your perception of reality with their phones. You shoot the 360 video directly on your smartphone, & are able to share it on any social media platform within seconds. So, you can: “share [360 video] with your friends with or without VR goggles.” The app lets you take 360 video footage with loop & sound. You can use touch to navigate through the video.

The creators say this is how it works:

* Tap around to capture & add videos to make a splash

* Dive into the best splashes from around the world

* Share splashes with friends on Facebook & other social networks

* Double-tap to show your love in 360°

* Check out VR mode to experience splashes in Google Cardboard or other headsets. VR just got social.

Their 0.2.40 version has a cleaner UI. The timing of the company releasing its beta is fortuitous. With social media platforms like Facebook recently supporting 360 video formats, splash is is ready to make its presence felt. Berlin-based startup, Viorama is banking on that certainly, with co-founder Michael Ronin looking to make capturing & sharing 360 video fun & easy. The company just received a shot of investment from EuropeanPioneers, which is allied to the European Union.
