The sheer volume of WordPress plugins available can be overwhelming. We recently came across an interesting one called ‘Quoty’, a free plugin that makes it easy to share text that you have selected or highlighted, on the most popular social networks.
Even though it’s a really simple plugin it, no doubt, can be very useful to a lot of users. Once it’s installed, it is really easy to use. Once you have selected the text that you want to share, you’ll see a pop-up that allows you to choose which of the available social networks you want to share it on. In this manner, visitors to your Website or blog can share fragments of text on the network platforms currently supported by Quoty: Google Plus, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest. Standard SVG icons are displayed.
Installation is straightforward, you just have to download the plugin & follow the instructions provided: Upload quoty.php to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory; & activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress. In the settings page you can choose all of the available social networks or just the combination you need. You also have a CSS Selector option & make it available only inside a particular element.
Quoty was developed by Nenad Tičarić (nticaric), who is CEO & owner of TNT Studio d.o.o. in Zagreb, Croacia. At the time of the writing of this piece, Quoty is up to version 1.1.2. It is available for free, requires WordPress v3.0.1 or higher & is compatible with versions of WordPress up to: v4.4.2.
