Online toy store ‘vtech’ hacked

vtechHong Kong-based toy manufacturer vtech’s servers were hacked earlier this month, admitted the company over the weekend. The hacker or hackers made away with thousands of pictures of parents & kids. What was even more shocking is that they also managed to lay their hands on a year’s worth of chat logs stored Online by the company that specializes in making Internet-connected toys.

Inside the servers, the hacker found the names, email addresses, passwords, & home addresses of 4,833,678 parents, & the first names, genders & birthdays of over 200,000 kids.

Vtech is headquartered in Hong Kong, & makes cordless phones in addition to electronic toys.
